Aquify was recently recognized as one of the Top 25 Companies Serving Local Government by Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL), a national professional association focused on all levels of local government. The ELGL Haverford Award recognizes top companies and organizations that support the work of local government, and drive innovation and creativity for local government organizations.
Outcomes for Local Government and Utilities
ELGL member the Village of Buffalo Grove nominated Aquify, an Exelon company, for the award, emphasizing the value of collaboration through a public-private partnership established to explore machine learning and AI opportunities for the village’s water utility.
According to Buffalo Grove, the relationship has “helped the village implement solutions at lower costs and with less risk while leveraging Aquify to do the work we may not have staff to do. With an overall goal to get help analyzing all the streams of data we’re collecting these days, while not having the staff time to analyze data in real time, we now have a partnership in place to utilize tools to identify system leaks faster, save money through lost revenue reductions, and explore opportunities to better leverage data to inform customers and protect tax dollar investments in infrastructure,” notes Buffalo Grove.
Long-Term Sustainable Solutions
The award underscores the importance of providing innovative opportunities for municipalities to achieve new levels of water system reliability, resilience, and responsiveness.
“It’s great to see Exelon’s resources made available to municipalities through their Aquify company,” Buffalo Grove explained. “It provides an opportunity for new staffing and partnership models to form, which will be so important in a post-COVID world of tighter municipal budgets and higher than ever customer expectations.”
